Speaker: Mollie Blake on Writing Romance, Erotica and Danger
A former finance director and now 52-year-old happily married mother of a seven-year-old boy, Mollie wanted to do something different in her life. She started writing erotic romance with a sense of danger at the age of forty-nine. The fun she has had helped with turning fifty and has done wonders for her sex-life (and her husband’s!). Mollie is now writing her third book and currently exploring issues around abuse, as they seem to be included in her writing and she hope to be able to help in some way, if only to let people know that help is out there. Mollie is involved with various Church and school activities. She loves writing, of course, and reading, skiing, cycling and going to the gym (well, she doesn’t love the last one but it has to be done!).
Did you know that reading erotic fiction can be good for your health? Well now it’s official, as confirmed on a recent episode of the Alan Titchmarsh Show!
In this talk Mollie will cover:
· Her transition (please note she doesn’t say “fall”) from ‘full time worker’ to ‘full time mum’ – sometimes perceived as virtually no worker – maintaining self-worth and confidence
· Why she started to write erotic fiction in particular – the benefits ‘Oh darling!’ and the challenges ‘Oh dear!’
· How she writes and the tools and methods she uses to market the books
